Environmental Conservation Organization (ECO)
ECO was formally known as the National Association of Environmental Professionals (NAEP). NAEP was the group that was the key proponent of installing the environmental service fee ($1 per semester out of tuition toward environmental projects) in 2003.
ECO strives to carry on this legacy by coordinating with the ESC through our organization and providing the resources for our members to make proposals of their own or with the group.

Mission and Goals
The Environmental Conservation Organization, or ECO, is a diverse group of students who all share a common appreciation for the environment. Through our intentions and our actions we encourage progress and growth towards a global sustainable future.
Our mission is to promote sustainability in all forms and to focus on minimizing local and environmental degradation to the best of our ability through education, activism, and community service. We want ECO’s presence in San Marcos to bring about positive changes that aim to protect and preserve our natural environment."
We seek to facilitate environmental awareness among Texas State Students through outreach, field trips, and guest speakers from environmentally focused fields. We also offer various service opportunities to provide a large range of fun and hands-on ways to get into the local community and make a difference. Past service events include: Past service events include Adopt-a-Spot, Kayak river clean ups, Rasmey's Gardening, Bobcat Build, Great Texas River Clean up, Earth Day, and many more!
