Resource Overview

The resources in this module give a brief introduction to the economics of this region and include:

A photo analysis of economic activities in the region.

Video presentations [under construction] and suggested readings and visual media that facilitate teaching about the economic geography of the region.  

A case study that focuses on the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) – a regional economic development organization that creates peace, stability and economic cooperation in the region. 

A lesson plan for this module that enables students to understand how to compare countries and their levels of development using "Development Diamonds,"  a graphing technique to depict 4 separate criteria: literacy rate, life expectancy, GDP per capita and school life expectancy.
